Portfolio

From portfolio piece to production-ready asset

A polished image is not the same as a dependable game asset. Here is what changes when the work must survive a real pipeline.
From portfolio piece to production-ready asset

Portfolio work is often judged by the final frame. Production work is judged by the final frame, the performance budget, the organisation of the source files, the quality of the handoff, and the ease with which another specialist can continue the work.

Students therefore review topology, naming, materials, scale, optimisation, engine integration, and documentation alongside composition and visual quality. These are not administrative details. They determine whether an asset can be trusted by the people building the rest of the game.

The Institute treats presentation and production readiness as connected outcomes. A portfolio should demonstrate taste, but it should also provide evidence that the artist understands constraints and can respond constructively to review.
